This Is What A Massive Subway Delay Looks Like

Train service was suspended Monday morning due to a track fire at the 145th Street station in Harlem, the MTA and FDNY said. If you commute on the A, B, C, D or 4 train you're probably either trembling with relief at your desk or reading this evergreen blog post from your underground purgatory.

Firefighters had extinguished the blaze by 9:15 a.m. Nine people sustained non-critical injuries and were transported to local hospitals, according to the FDNY.

And B and C train service will end early each night.

Twitter user Tamara Hansson tweeted, "Now me and several hundred other people are walking to the 145th 1 train".

The MTA says all passengers that were stuck between stations were able to get off their trains and go to subway stations.

There is no train service between Bedford Pk Blvd and Brighton Beach in both directions.

From 10 5 a.m, A trains wll not run between 59th Street Columbus Circle and 207th Street in Inwood. There is no C train service between Euclid Avenue and 168th Street in both directions. There were also long lines for the M3 and M4 buses. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority shut down the A and C lines at first, but by 8:30 a.m., B trains became suspended in both directions and D trains stopped running north of 125th Street.

For now, service has resumed on all lines but with extensive delays.
