Russian Federation demands immediate return of diplomatic property from US

The Kremlin said on Monday it hoped the Trump administration would find the political wisdom to solve a diplomatic dispute with Moscow over the seizure of Russian diplomatic property in the United States.

In December 2016, Washington imposed a number of restrictive measures on Russia over Moscow's alleged meddling in the U.S. presidential election, including sanctions against several Russian individuals and entities, as well as the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats and the closure of two Russian diplomatic compounds in the United States.

Russian Federation is again calling on the United States to restore its access to two diplomatic compounds that were seized in December by then-President Barack Obama's administration.

The news comes in the wake of the meeting between Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Thomas Shannon.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: "We consider it absolutely unacceptable to place conditions on the return of diplomatic property, we consider that it must be returned without any conditions and talking".

He said Moscow was using the compounds for "intelligence-related purposes".

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov slammed the U.S. for refusing to return diplomatic properties seized after Moscow interfered in the 2016 presidential election, calling it "daylight robbery", according to a report on Monday.

The White House has faced a maelstrom of U.S. investigations into possible collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

Purchases 1653 Shares of Chevron Corporation (CVX)
Investment Centers Of America Inc bought 11,090 shares as the company's stock declined 3.45% while stock markets rallied. The stock of Chevron Corporation (NYSE:CVX) earned "Market Perform" rating by Raymond James on Tuesday, March 22.

Peskov said that any USA preconditions for the return of the property would be unacceptable for Moscow, and that Washington's actions contradicted worldwide law.

Mr Lavrov added that this disagreement and "anti-Russian" sentiment among Americans may mean the countries will not agree on key, global issues.

Russian Federation has vehemently denied any involvement in election hacking.
