NSE Says Trying To Fix Disruption In Trading, Not Shut For Day

After some trading took place in cash and futures and options segment in early morning, the NSE shut down at 9:55 am. ET Now reported that the finance ministry and SEBI will watch out for any data breaches.

The Finance Ministry has asked NSE and the market regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India, to submit a report within the next two days on the reasons for the disruption, a senior finance ministry official said. Price quotations for individually listed stocks apparently were not updating, as a result of which trading was delayed late by over an hour.

Mumbai: The National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE), which was hit by a technical snag in the early hours of Monday morning, has sought an explanation from BSE Ltd on spurt in its share volumes. "Market re-open time will be intimated shortly", the bourse said in a statement. SEBI is monitoring the situation.

He added that Liu had wanted to receive treatment in Germany or the USA , with hospitals in both countries willing to treat him. Police in plain clothes blocked a Reuters journalist from taking video of the hospital entrance.

The key stock exchange has attributed the problem to a technical glitch, vowing to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

The spokesperson said cash and F&O segments are functioning normally, but a "display issue has been noticed which is being addressed".

The NSE said that all its market segments were operational as of 12.30 p.m.

Although the NSE resumed for trade at around 11.15am, glitches continued to affect the operations, leading to a subsequent halt in the resumption of full trade, as pre-open session orders were still not getting executed.

Meanwhile, trade activities on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) remained unaffected.
