Upgraded Mustang gets another Euro NCAP star

Firstly, it has a new driver's side airbag which holds its shape for longer before deflating - the original version deflated so fast that the crash test dummy's head contacted the steering wheel during some of the tests.

The test team at Euro NCAP have been busy with six all-new cars this month, with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Hyundai i30, Vauxhall Insignia, Seat Ibiza and Volkswagen Arteon all receiving the full five stars. Alfa Romeo's new off-roader, the Stelvio, did exceptionally well in adult occupant protection, with a near-perfect 97 percent score, matching competitors like the Volvo XC90, assessed in 2015. With these changes, the latest Mustang on sale has reached three stars.

Palestinian Authority forces Gaza workers to retire
Hamas has been the de facto ruler of the Gaza Strip since 2007 after it won an overall majority in the general elections in 2006. Despite mediation efforts by several Arab states, Fatah and Hamas fail to reconcile since the near civil war a decade ago.

This time the Ford Mustang was awarded a three-star safety rating, with Thatcham's Matthew Avery advising that it is hardly a "cause for celebration". Hyundai's new i30 gets a five-star rating with solid performance in every key area. The only new auto that missed out on a five-star rating was the Honda Civic, which was let down by lower-than-expected protection offered to children, but is still rated as a "solid four star vehicle".

Meanwhile, Ford resubmitted its flagship Mustang sports auto for testing, following criticism over its two-star result earlier this year, and emerged one star better off.

Virginia State Police Investigating Buckingham County Plane Crash
Cianciolo was flying to CT from North Carolina and was the only person in the plane at the time of the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified.

Ford hoped to improve its safety rating with the addition of standard fit pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and lane keeping aid. Even this is an improvement on its performance earlier in 2017 though, where a lack of active safety technology plus a fault with underinflating airbags saw the Ford sports auto awarded a meagre two-star Euro NCAP score - the worst performance of any vehicle since 2008.
