Disabled Protesters Stage 'Die-In' over Senate Health Care Bill Rollout

"The Senate proposal cuts off Medicaid expansion more gradually than the House bill, but would enact deeper long-term cuts to the health-care program for low-income Americans", reported the Washington Post late Wednesday.

"Don't touch Medicaid, save our liberty", the protesters chanted outside his office.

A group of protesters, many of which who were disabled, descended on the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky, Thursday angry over the release of the GOP's health care bill.

Protesters were organized by a group called ADAPT, which identifies itself as a nonprofit for people with disabilities. Some protesters with physical disabilities were dragged away, and witnesses claimed that one officer even dropped a protester in a wheelchair.

Several journalists and other people at McConnell's office tweeted the chaotic events as they unfolded, showing that numerous protesters who were removed were using wheelchairs and other medical devices. "Our lives and liberty shouldn't be stolen to give a tax break to the wealthy".

Desiderio also tweeted video of Capitol Police physically removing people from the hallway.
