Dad, daughter catch teen who fell from ride

A teenage girl survived a dramatic fall from a ride at a U.S. theme park after men heroically caught her.

Howard was leaving Six Flags Great Escape Amusement Park, 55 miles north of Albany, with his family when he heard someone screaming for help.

On video, the girl can be seen trying to wriggle free, her neck apparently stuck in the lap bar.

A crowd of people gathered, with some filming the incident as it unfolded. "I said: 'It's OK!"

The video was posted by Facebook user Loren Lent, who thanked the people who caught the girl, as well as a man who climbed a nearby tree to move the branches that were in her way. The video showed onlookers cheering after the girl was caught and then the girl being carried away, limp. Another man attempting to participate in the rescue also suffered a back injury.

Arms' first big update adds LAN and arena modes
Up to four players can battle in the arena, while those not participating can watch the action while they wait their turn. There's also been a fix for the Ribbon-Girl stage, where some hits weren't properly registering on the purple boxes.

"I couldn't let that little girl die", he told the AP. Winchell says she caught the girl's head and they all tumbled to the ground. The girl's little brother was shaken but otherwise uninjured.

They did not know how she had fallen out of the ride.

"I just couldn't stand there", he said. "We were in the right place at the right time".

Generally speaking, amusement parks can be sued for negligence, including failing to maintain equipment, failing to warn riders of risks, failing to train the operators of rides, and providing incorrect instructions to riders.

"We'll catch you, honey", a voice could be heard yelling.

Officer injured, San Francisco mall closed following fight
Because of the level of violence and the number of innocent bystanders inside the mall, the center was closed early, police said. Rueca said officers tried to detain several people some of whom resisted and would not obey officers.

Howard is just happy he and his daughter were among those on the ground below. "She was crying for about a half-hour after". The park issued a statement that said the safety of guests is a top priority.

All rides have a standard evacuation plan, said Wood, the park spokeswoman.

Still, theme park ride-related accidents can be horrifying when they do occur, and more than 1,000 injuries on such rides have been logged each year between 2003 and 2015, according to the National Safety Council report.

Park spokeswoman Jessica Hansen says there appeared to be no malfunction on the ride, but that Six Flags has closed the attraction for further review.
