Otto Warmbier: No autopsy for US student held by North Korea

Trump said on Twitter on Tuesday he appreciated efforts by Chinese President Xi Jinping "to help with North Korea", adding "It has not worked out".

"Otto Warmbier should never have been in jail for tearing down a stupid banner".

Schiff said a new law was important to show Congress' unity on North Korea, arguing that financial measures through the Treasury Department might be more effective than a passport ban because it would deter travel companies ferrying Americans. And he most certainly should not have been murdered for it.

"And we'll continue to work with them and others to put the appropriate pressure on North Korea to change this behaviour and this regime".

Like past presidents, Trump is finding the US has limited scope for punishing North Korea, particularly over the arrest of USA citizens.

However, an autopsy will not be performed in accordance to the family's wishes.

He said Warmbier was breathing on his own at the time and his vital signs were normal but could not speak or move voluntarily. North Korea deserves it, but what will he do beyond the rhetoric?

"I think there have been some positive steps that they've taken, both at the United Nations and economically, to help strengthen the case against North Korea", Spicer added. They did not cite a specific cause of death.

He returned to the a coma last week after 17 months in detention and died on Monday. "But I believe it is quite clear that they have a heavy responsibility in the process that led to Mr. Warmbier's death". "We just continue the march, I guess".
