Jeff Sessions hires private attorney

The Washington Post reports that Sessions' new attorney is Washington lawyer Charles Cooper, a longtime friend in Washington.

When U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions attended a congressional hearing last week, there was a lawyer by his side.

Cooper, a partner with his own firm, Cooper & Kirk, would not say when he was retained by Sessions or whether he is representing Sessions in the special counsel's investigation into Trump and Russian Federation.

Mexico come from behind to beat New Zealand — FIFA Confederations Cup
Oribe Peralta completed Mexico's comeback in the 72nd minute to eliminate the Oceania champions with one game to spare. Akinfeev did come to Russia's rescue soon after the break, denying Adrien Silva's short-range header.

Earlier this month, Comey told the Senate intelligence committee during a bombshell testimony that he and senior FBI leadership had expected Sessions to recuse himself from the investigation, adding that there were other facts he was aware of that he could not disclose in an open setting.

He has since come under further scrutiny for his role in the firing of former Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey in May.

Another Trump Administration official has hired private legal counsel as multiple investigations continue into potential Trump campaign collusion with Russian Federation as well as alleged obstruction of justice by President Donald Trump himself.

Uber reverses long-standing tip policy for drivers
As the first part of this initiative, the company has announced the arrival of tipping for Uber drivers, a long requested feature. The program is authored by Rachel Holt and Aaron Schildkrout, Uber's lead executives for US Operations and Driver Experience.

Trump subsequently said in an NBC television that he would have fired Comey regardless of the Justice Department recommendations and said he went ahead with it because "this Russian Federation thing with Trump and Russian Federation is a made-up story".

Further questions were raised when, despite having recused himself fromthe Russian Federation probe, he wrote a memo recommending that Trump fire FBI director James Comey in May, while Comey was spearheading the FBI's investigation. Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores announced Tuesday that Sessions had retained Cooper.

Cooper is a founding member and chairman of Cooper & Kirk, PLLC and was named by the National Law Journal as one of the best civil litigators in Washington.
