Chances of Trump meeting with North Korea's Kim narrowing - White House

South Korean President Moon Jae-in says North Korea must bear "heavy responsibility" for the death of a 22-year-old US college student it detained for almost a year and a half.

His tweet comes a day after learning that Otto Warmbier, an American student who was returned from North Korea to the U.S.in a coma last week, had died.

Warmbier's family released a statement saying Otto "was at peace". They said it should be a "call to action to those in the position to protect our American citizens here at home AND overseas".

The China-based travel agency that organized a trip to North Korea for an American college student who died after being released in a coma from North Korean detention said it would no longer take US citizens to the country.

A statement read: "It is our sad duty to report that our son, Otto Warmbier, has completed his journey home".

Kenneth Bae, a Korean-American missionary who spent nearly two years in a North Korean prison before he was released in November 2014, asked people to pray for Warmbier's family.

Trump Says China Tried But Failed to Help on North Korea
Some observers believe that North Korea became anxious because Warmbier's condition suddenly worsened. Two weeks later he was sentenced to 15 years in one of dictator Kim Jong-un's brutal labour camps .

President Donald Trump speaks during a meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in the Oval Office of the White House, Tuesday, June 20, 2017, in Washington.

"It's unsafe", Corker said, adding that the "trumped up charges" like those Warmbier was accused of "can continue to happen".

Three other U.S. nationals are still being held by the Kim Jong-un administration.

Asked whether Trump would still consider meeting with Kim Jong Un - as he previously said he would be willing to do, given the right conditions - Spicer said: "Clearly, we're moving further away, not closer, to those conditions being met".

North Korea must bear "heavy responsibility" for Warmbier's death, said South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

It also prompted the tour group that facilitated Warmbier's visit to end trips to North Korea for Americans.

US shoots down Iranian drone in Syria
Coalition forces use the area - just northeast of the Jordanian border - as a training and staging area for attacks against IS. It was shot down near Tanf, an outpost of the US-led coalition. "The Coalition's mission is to defeat Isis in Iraq and Syria".

Warmbier died in OH on Monday, days after being released by North Korea while in a coma.

Young Pioneer Tours, which was founded by British expatriate Gareth Johnson, said that it was denied any opportunity to meet with Warmbier after his detention, and that the way it was handled was "appalling". John McCain, R-Ariz., proposed that prospective American travelers complete a form declaring they won't hold the USA government responsible for what happens.

A spokesman for the Hamilton County coroner says Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco's (LAK'-schmee sam-MAHR'-kohz) office has accepted the case of Otto Warmbier, who died Monday in a Cincinnati hospital. Justin Weber told The Associated Press a press conference is expected later to provide more information.

Doctors in Cincinnati said last week that Warmbier had suffered significant brain damage.

Han Tae Song, a senior North Korean official, declined to speak about Warmbier's case, but in speaking about detainees said, "We are doing according to our national laws, and according to the worldwide standards". "He was home and we believe he could sense that".

"I pray that these innocent people suffering in North Korea are not forgotten in this high-stakes game of weapons, sanctions, and global diplomacy", he added.

"I think the President's direct engagement with President Xi of China and the fact that now you've seen China turning back coal shipments from North Korea, making changes in the ability of people to travel by air from Pyongyang into China and other measures that they may well take in the future demonstrates the hands-on diplomacy that President Trump has brought to this", Pence told CNN.
