Trump to announce rollbacks of Obama's Cuba policy during Miami visit

South Florida's Cuban-American community sounded off on President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to Little Havana, where he is expected to announce changes to the current USA policy with Cuba.

Trump's changes, shared Thursday with the Miami Herald, are meant to sharply curtail cash flow to the Cuban government and pressure its communist leaders to let the island's fledgling private sector grow. "We can't put the genie back in the bottle 100 percent-I think this is an effort to improve upon what the president has said is a very bad deal". That company, which owns hotels, restaurants, stores and money exchanges in Cuba, is believed to control over half the economy.

White House officials describe the policy change as fulfilling a promise Trump made to Florida's Cuban exile community last fall.

Trump will curtail cash flow to the Cuba's communist government in a reversal of some Obama Administration policies to be unveiled Friday in Miami. Senior officials warned that travelers, however, may be "subject to audit".

Andre Ward, Sergey Kovalev each looks to leave no doubt in rematch
The blow left Kovalev bent over in agony which resulted in Weeks calling a halt to the fight. Andre Ward defeated Sergey Kovalev in the rematch, completely without deserving.

"Travel from the U.S.to Cuba is an important way to encourage people-to-people diplomacy", the company wrote in a statement.

The new policies will prohibit doing business with institutions controlled by Cuban military or intelligence and will end the "people to people" travel program, which the Obama administration laxly enforced and essentially allowed tourism. How big the changes in policy will be, however, remains to be seen. The category of individual people-to-people travel that is slated to be eliminated was only added as an authorized option in March 2016.

Those on both sides of the issue say the Starwood decision was particularly vexing for the administration.

Amongst things not expected to be affected by Trump's new policy: the embassy in Havana will remain an embassy, remittances will still be allowed to be sent to Cuba and agricultural and medical business will still be allowed. The policy will maintain diplomatic relations and allow USA airlines and cruise ships to continue servicing the island. "These people are benefitting greatly, not only from Americans spending money, but sharing their ideas with them", said Collin Laverty, founder and president of Cuba Educational Travel.

Crude oil pricing can be confusing
For this reason, Libya's production over the next few months is one of the wildest wild cards for OPEC and global oil supply. US crude stockpiles remain more than 100 million barrels above the five-year average, according to data from the EIA.

"The President has made clear that he will look toward repressive regimes in this hemisphere... the Cuba policy needs to change", a senior administration official said. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) played a "central" role in helping the administration recast the policy, one official said, while other members of Congress were instrumental as well.

Though Trump will announce his new policy this Friday, nothing will change until the agencies implement those regulations.

American travellers hoping to take a trip to Cuba are going to have a hard time doing so going forward, roughly a year after airlines opened up commercial flight routes to Havana. We should allow Americans to be Americans and enjoy the freedom to travel where, when and the way they want without bureaucratic red tape.
