Trump reverses on deportation of undocumented children

The Trump administration has canceled a never-implemented Obama-era immigration program meant to protect parents of us citizens from deportation, fulfilling one of President Donald Trump's campaign promises.

The Trump administration has officially rescinded President Obama's Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents, or DAPA.

"I'm grateful that President Trump has made a decision to keep the DACA program in place", Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), a leader in the fight to create DACA, said on the Senate floor Thursday.

"Demonstrating its characteristic obtuseness with respect to civil rights history, the Trump administration chose the 35th anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling in Plyler v. Doe, a singular achievement for immigrants' rights, as the day to rescind the 2014 initiative of Deferred Action for Parents of Americans (DAPA), which would protect from removal millions of immigrant parents raising children in the U.S.", said Thomas Saenz, president and general counsel of MALDEF, a Latino civil rights organization.

Cosby jury asks to rehear hours of testimony
Jurors are weighing three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault that could put Cosby in prison for the rest of his life. Cosby , 79, has pleaded not guilty to drugging and molesting Andrea Constand at his Pennsylvania home in 2004.

The Supreme Court tied 4-4 on a challenge to that ruling, and Kelly on Thursday rescinded the program, saying it no longer has a "credible path forward" in court.

DAPA affected certain undocumented immigrants who are the parents of children who are USA citizens or legal residents. They would have been kept safe from deportation and provided with renewable work permits.

After the news that the DACA program would remain in force broke out, reactions started pouring in from both sides of the#Immigration debate.

The program has granted temporary work permits and reprieves from deportation to almost 800,000 people living in the US illegally.

Coincidentally, the latter features him rhyming about the type of legal proceedings that landed him behind bars. In 2003, Juvenile faced legal trouble after pleading guilty to a theft charge.

"The fact that Trump has not made a decision to remove DACA is a testament to the organizing that has been going on by immigrant groups", said Camila Bortolleto of Brookfield, who received DACA status in 2013. The protection can be revoked at any time, and some young immigrants have lost DACA protections after being arrested for crimes. Though Congress has the power to decide the fate of these immigrants, President said the issue would be handled with utmost caution, compassion and with heart, Hoffman added. By keeping open the possibility of ending DACA, though, he preserves his bargaining power - i.e., his ability, perhaps, to get something from Democrats in exchange for a final decision to retain DACA. But deporting the dreamers poses a political risk, as they're viewed sympathetically by many Americans who realize the immigrants were young children when they entered the country.

A Thursday night news release from DHS states, "the June 15, 2012 memorandum that created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program will remain in effect".

Since taking office in January, the government has said its crackdown will focus on illegal immigrants with criminal records and those linked to violent gangs.

Breitbart Texas covered the trial in South Texas in Judge Andrew Hanen where the judge not only blocked the order but had harsh words for Obama Administration lawyers.
