Deputy AG Rosenstein testifying before budget hearings Tuesday

Deputy AG Rosenstein testifying before budget hearings Tuesday

President Donald Trump is considering terminating special counsel Robert Mueller, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation director who was named by the Justice Department in May to lead the Russian Federation probe, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy told PBS NewsHour on Monday.

Speculation about whether Mueller would be removed was sparked on Monday after a friend of the president, Christopher Ruddy, the CEO of Newsmax Media, said during an interview on PBS NewsHour that he thought Trump is "considering perhaps terminating the special counsel".

But Ryan said he trusted Mueller, who was named to his post by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, to conduct a fair investigation.

Ruddy later clarified to ABC News that Trump is "considering asking [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein to terminate Mueller". Rosenstein has served as acting attorney general for the Russian Federation investigation since Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from that investigation in March.

Scalise shooter went to GOP baseball practice with list of names
Sava said Scalise would need to undergo an additional operation within the next 48 hours and more beyond that. The other victims are recovering from their wounds, while the gunman died after a shootout with police.

The suggestion that the scope of Mueller's investigation may extend beyond the Trump campaign's activity to the recent firing of the FBI Director would indicate that the special counsel could be looking into a possible cover-up.

"I appointed him. I stand by it. and I am going to defend the integrity of that investigation", he said.

House Speaker Paul Ryan says the White House and President Donald Trump should let the special counsel's investigation continue, and await vindication.

But a source close to the President said Trump is being counseled to steer clear of such a dramatic move like firing the special counsel. "I think there's a conflict there".

Bill Cosby trial: Judge declares mistrial after jury fails to reach verdict
By Thursday morning, after almost 30 hours of discussions spanning three days, the jurors told O'Neill they were at a stalemate. Cosby said in a radio interview before the trial he hoped to resume his performing career after the Constand case was resolved.

The tweet from Conway came after the Trump White House had to put out a fire caused by Trump confidant Chris Ruddy. She asked whether he has seen "any evidence of good cause" to fire Mueller. Doubt, however, has been cast on that explanation because of cryptic testimony from former FBI Director James Comey last week. "Mr Ruddy never spoke to the president regarding this issue", an official said.

Ruddy did not dismiss the White House communications team's words, but he did call Spicer's statement "bizarre".

Sessions told his former Senate colleagues that he didn't know one way or the other.

Two senators say they are disappointed that Attorney General Jeff Sessions has sent his deputy to testify before a committee hearing on the Justice Department's budget.

Despite Clinton impeachment vote, Gingrich says President 'cannot obstruct justice'
Gingrich was a vocal advocate for Trump during his campaign and at one time was considered for the vice president slot. I've had college students say they've been threatened with getting beaten up, some of them get death threats.

It was not clear whether Mr Ruddy, who speaks to the president often, was basing his remarks on a specific conversation with him or entirely on Mr Sekulow's comments.
