Authorities say escaped Georgia inmates caught in Tennessee

Donnie Russell Rowe, 43, and Ricky Dubose, 24, were taken into custody Thursday after two residents held them at gunpoint whey they discovered the men were trying to steal a auto from a central Tennessee home, Lt. Bill Miller from the Tennessee Highway Patrol said late Friday.

They took another two cars before they broke into an elderly couple's home and stole a 2016 Jeep. Rowe and Dubose have been on the run since Tuesday, when they allegedly overpowered two correctional officers on a transport bus in Putnam County before making their escape. Rowe and Dubose crashed the vehicle and ran on foot into dense woods.

According to CNN, Sills said the truck was ditched in Moore County in Tennessee and the two apparently stole a auto, which they drove to a house in Bedford County.

"They will be brought to justice swiftly for their heinous crime against our Officers", he said, also expressing gratitude to all of the law enforcement officers who provided support and assistance in the search for the two men.

Jasper County Sheriff Chris Malphrus said law enforcement has received reports of two men matching the description of the escaped inmates from Georgia being spotted at a rest area at mile marker 17 on Interstate 95. They are now in custody.

Russian Federation probe may examine possible obstruction of justice by Trump
The investigation is examining whether Trump's firing of ex-FBI Director James Comey constitutes obstruction of justice. The Washington Post , citing unidentified officials, carried the report on Wednesday.

The corrections department identified the victims as Christopher Monica, 42, who began working there in 2009, and Curtis Billue, 58, who would have marked his 10th anniversary with the department next month. Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sill said he doesn't know how the inmates were able to overpower the guards and kill them.

Sills thanked the Rutherford and Bedford County sheriff's offices and all local and federal agencies that worked to apprehend the men.

"We are relieved to know that these two risky individuals have been taken off the streets, and the public is out of harm's way", said Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Greg Dozier in a press release.

Authorities said Donnie Rowe and Ricky Dubose were captured Thursday in Tennessee after leading police on a chase by vehicle and by foot.

TBI Director Mark Gwyn said it was the bravery and cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies that led to the capture of the escapees and that some people in Georgia were probably breathing a sigh of relief tonight.

Amazing!: Bette Midler's Tony Awards Speech Was Literally Everything
Midler uttered those words when the orchestra started playing her off for winning Best Musical Actress for " Hello, Dolly! ". Indeed, producers of the Tony Awards should consider using that conceit as a way to get viewers into the show.

Authorities say the reward has increased to $130,000 for information leading to the arrest of two escaped Georgia inmates wanted for killing two prison guards.

Monica, 42, a sergeant, worked for the department for nearly eight years and leaves a wife. Burial will follow in Heritage Memorial Park.

Dubose is serving a 20-year sentence for armed robbery, aggravated assault and theft from a 2014 case. The manhunt for both inmates continues into its third day Thursday. Both were being housed at Baldwin State Prison in Hardwick, Ga. and were on a transport bus to another facility.

In Georgia, Sills told reporters no one was wounded and the inmates gave up after about 15 minutes in the trees beside Interstate 24. Sills said investigators were trying to determine how the killers got out of the inmate cage and into the driver's compartment.
