Turkish products hit shelves as blockade remains in Qatar

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called on Arab nations on Friday to immediately ease their blockade on Qatar, warning that the Persian Gulf crisis is hindering US efforts to fight the Islamic State group and other extremists in the Middle East.

Trump also says that unity among Gulf Cooperation Council countries and strong partnerships with the US are crucial for defeating terrorism.

"The president offered to help the parties resolve their differences, including through a meeting at the White House, if necessary".

Trump had accused Qatar of being a "high level" funder of terrorism on Friday, even as the Pentagon and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson cautioned against the military, commercial and humanitarian effects of a blockade imposed by Arab states and others.

However, Kane slammed in at the far post deep into stoppage time to break the hearts of the Tartan Army. People have said there's a lack of leaders but I don't see that to be the case.

Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain lead a string of countries that this week cut ties with Qatar over what they say is the emirate's financing of extremist groups and its ties to Iran, Saudi Arabia's regional arch-rival.

The three Gulf nations cut ties to Qatar on June 5 over its alleged support of militants and ties to Iran and ordered all Qataris out within 14 days, while calling their own citizens back. Qatar hosts 8,000 USA military personnel at al Udeid, the largest US air base in the Middle East and a launchpad for US -led strikes on ISIS. Turkey's parliament, on the other hand, has approved sending troops to an existing Turkish base in Qatar as a sign of support. Saudi Arabia has completely shut Qatar's only land border in a country that imports 90 percent of its food, much of it through its border with the Saudis. Indeed, the Saudis and other key Arab states targeting Qatar (namely the United Arab Emirates and Egypt) appear to be courting US support as evidenced by their tailor made for Washington framing of the crisis: that it is driven by Doha providing sanctuary and support to extremist groups.

Kuwait - which unlike most of its fellow Gulf Cooperation Council members has not cut off ties with Qatar - has been leading efforts to mediate.

"In the wake of that conference, nations came together and spoke to me about confronting Qatar over its behavior", said the president.

Liverpool say sorry to Southampton and abandon pursuit of Virgil van Dijk
Liverpool also face a hard situation in the deal to sign Mohamed Salah with Roma digging their heels over a fee. He went onto state that 'the only person at Liverpool who should apologise is the person who fed the story'.

UAE-based newspaper Gulf News and pan-Arab channel Al-Arabiya reported the crackdown on expressions of sympathy towards Qatar.

Qatar long has denied supporting or funding terror groups.

In the interview, Al Thani confirmed the Federal Bureau of Investigation is helping Qatar investigate a hack of its state-run news agency last month that may have been a catalyst for the crisis.

Qatar has for years punched well above its weight in world affairs by parleying its vast gas wealth into influence across the region, irking the UAE and dominant Gulf Arab power Saudi Arabia with its maverick stances and support for Islamists.

Minnesota officer says motorist had hand on gun when shot
He testified that he examined autopsy reports to conclude that Castile had smoked marijuana within about two hours of his death. But prosecutor Jeffrey Paulsen questioned Dutton's analysis by asking him to explain inconsistencies in Yanez's statements.

As conciliation efforts in the Gulf appeared to stall, leaders in Russia, Turkey, Germany and the United States expressed increasing concern. "We are now buying Turkish products", he said. A day earlier, Trump discussed the crisis with King Salman of Saudi Arabia, which is leading the anti-Qatar campaign.
