Ex-FBI Director Comey Cleared to Testify Publicly on Trump-Russia Probe

Trump has repeatedly denied that anyone did.

According to The New York Times, those interactions included a dinner during which Trump told Comey to "pledge his loyalty", and an Oval Office meeting where he was asked to close a probe on Flynn. He wrote similar memos about each call and meeting he had with the president, who he felt was trying to influence the FBI investigation into possible collusion between Trump and his advisers and Russian officials.

Since his dismissal earlier this month, Comey had been expected to testify at some point about his private interactions with the president, as well as the detailed memos he took describing the conversations. Current and former law enforcement officials have said that Federal Bureau of Investigation agents will most likely question many White House officials as part of that case. Mueller's separate probe could conceivably look at the circumstances surrounding Comey's firing.

Trump says US will abandon global climate accord
Merkel had previously vowed to "convince the doubters" among world leaders that "protecting the climate matters to all of us". But Trump has also been known to change his mind, as he did in April with the North American Free Trade Agreement.

However, Comey declined to do so, reports Politico news. The FBI has refused to give them to Congress, citing Mueller's investigation.

The Senate Intelligence Committee said on May 19 that Comey, who was sacked by Trump ten days earlier, would testify before the panel publicly at some point after Monday's Memorial Day holiday.

Reuters reports that Comey chose to postpone his testimony before the House Oversight Committee until he has a chance to speak with Mueller, the head of the independent Russian probe. Having Comey testify before Congress, however, would spare Mueller a legal fight. "How can you amplify your views publicly and then, in response to a legitimate inquiry, say "I'm sorry, I can't talk about that"?" "He was insane, a real nut job", Trump reportedly said.

For the old lioness can still roar and, Lord willing, will do just that when the results come flooding in election night. She said: "You can only deliver for Britain if you have the strength, the plan and the determination to see it through".

The Senate testimony would mark Comey's first public comments since his firing.

Cohen, who had refused an earlier request for information, saying it was "not capable of being answered", told The Associated Press on Wednesday, "If subpoenaed, I will work with my lawyers to cooperate with the various investigations".

The subpoenas for Flynn and his business, Flynn Intel Group, come after the Senate Intelligence Committee issued subpoenas last week for Flynn's personal and business documents related to his contacts with Russian officials.

Spicer: Trump Has 'Fairly Unbelievable' Relationship With Merkel
At the subsequent G7 meeting last week, Trump refused to state his support for the Paris agreement on climate change, making him the only G7 leader not to do so.

"The Paris agreement is a bad deal... for the United States", he said.
