Trump Says Has 'Total Confidence' in Son-in-law, Key Adviser Kushner

The White House has stood behind senior adviser Jared Kushner, despite reports that he sought to arrange covert communications with Russian Federation in the weeks preceding Donald Trump's election as president.

"Jared is doing a great job for the country", Trump said. I once wrote that he was the only one of President Donald Trump's close advisers who couldn't be fired, but Kushner's father-in-law would be smart to prove me wrong.

First, Barack Obama was still president at the time; while it is normal for an incoming administration to have informal meet-and-greets with foreign officials, Kushner's proposal was so inappropriate that Kislyak was said to be stunned.

A recent report from The Washington Post claimed that Kushner attempted to coordinate a secure, private line of communication with Russian Federation. He met separately last December - after the election but before Trump assumed office - with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to Washington, and Sergey Gorkov, the head of the government-owned Vnesheconombank, which has been subject to US sanctions because of its role in Russia's occupation of a part of Ukraine.

More attorneys with deep experience in Washington investigations are expected to be added, along with crisis communication experts, to help the White House in the weeks ahead. "I think any channel of communication, back or otherwise, with a country like Russian Federation is a good thing".

Transgender student in Wisconsin can use boys' bathroom, appeals court rules
Circuit Court of Appeals issued an extremely narrow ruling in Grimm's favor, relying nearly entirely on the Obama-era guidance. Whitaker argued that the school district's bathroom policy violated his rights under the 14th Amendment of the U.S.

The news of the secret channel proposal came in the same week that Reuters reported that Kushner had three unreported contacts with the Russians between April and November of a year ago.

President Trump tweeted several times Sunday evening, attacking the "Fake News Media" for criticizing his social media habits.

In a series of tweets, the President said he believed the leaks coming from his administration are actually "fabricated lies". "If not then there's no way he can maintain that kind of a clearance".

Rep. Adam Schiff of California, the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said it's "obviously very concerning" that a key Trump campaign figure was possibly seeking secret communications with a country that intelligence experts say intervened in the 2016 election, the AP reported.

Kushner was reportedly joined by Michael Flynn, who would resign, after just 24 days as Trump's national security adviser following reports that he secretly spoke with Kislyak about sanctions and lied about it.

White House Communications Director Stepping Down
Asked about Spicer's job security, a White House official said staffers have been told he "isn't going anywhere". Trump will also take more questions directly from the media, Axios reported .

Nevertheless, some critics have called for Kushner's security clearance to be revoked, while others say he should temporarily step aside while his ties to Moscow are being reviewed.

Rep. Adam Schiff, the top Democrat on the House intelligence committee, said Sunday on ABC that USA officials need to get to the bottom of the allegations against Kushner, including if Kushner was not honest about his Russian Federation contacts during the security clearance process.

White House officials defended the concept of secret communications channels without commenting specifically on the Kushner case.
