UK: Manchester Police Arrest Another Suspect in Bomb Probe, Total 12

British police said they had arrested a 25-year-old man Sunday and were conducting a search of a house in connection with the suicide bombing that killed 22 people at a Manchester pop concert.

Police have released surveillance-camera images of Abedi on the night of the attack that show him dressed in sneakers, jeans, a dark jacket and a baseball cap.

On Saturday night, police issued CCTV stills of Abedi, bespectacled and casually clothed, in a plea for information about his movements between May 18 and the attack.

Abedi's city centre flat was one of the last places he went - and where he may have made the final touches to his explosive device - before going to the arena, police have said.

Britain on Saturday lowered the terror threat level which was hiked after this week's carnage in Manchester as police released CCTV footage of bomber Salman Abedi on the night of the attack.

But he said there were still "gaps in our understanding" of the plot, as investigators probed Abedi's potential links to jihadis in Britain, Europe, Libya and the Middle East.

They say they have already dismantled a significant part of Abedi's co-conspirators but expect to make further arrests.

In the Libyan capital Tripoli, Abedi's younger brother 20-year-old Hashem and their father, Ramadan, are being held by special forces linked to the country's interior ministry.

A search was also carried out at an address in Moss Side, in the south of the city, as part of a massive police operation, which has seen raids across several cities.

Prime Minister Theresa May said developments in the investigation into the bombing meant that intelligence experts had made a decision to lower the threat level from its highest rating "critical", meaning an attack could be imminent, to "severe".

Armed police will be on patrol over the holiday weekend, with security increased at football's showpiece FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday.

In a statement Friday, she said "I'll be returning to the incredibly courageous city of Manchester to spend time with my fans and to have a benefit concert in honour of and to raise money for the victims and their families".

Two of those people have since been released without charge, with a total of 12 men between the ages of 18 and 44 still in custody for questioning.

Manchester slowly returned to normal, though the damaged arena and adjacent Victoria train station remained closed.

Grande, meanwhile, promised to return to "the incredibly courageous city of Manchester" to hold a benefit concert for the victims.

"After everything that's happened in Manchester, to get everyone to come together, stand united, don't let them win, that's why I'm doing it", runner Ian McLellan, 45, told AFP.
