Protesters Target Trump Golf Course During PGA Event

In winning the Kitchenaid Senior PGA Championship on Sunday by one over Vijay Singh, Langer earned the career senior grand slam and surpassed Jack Nicklaus for most senior majors ever.

Despite a few dozen protesters, the drama remained on the course at President Donald Trump's club on the shores of the Potomac River. He routinely outdrove the 59-year-old Langer by 30 yards and got up-and-down for birdie on the par-5 18th to maintain his one-shot advantage. At the next hole, Singh three-putted from 25 feet to give Langer a two-shot margin going to the last hole. By week's end, Langer led the field in driving accuracy (51 of 56, 91.6 percent) and greens in regulation (61 of 72, 84.72 percent). His putt hugged the left edge of the cup and dropped to get Singh to 14 under following Langers downhill 15-foot try that tailed to the left, leaving a two-footer he made for par. Coming in here I knew my game was in pretty good shape, but I truly didn't expect to pull it off again.

Scott McCarron also shot a 67 and was two shots back, as was Vijay Singh. Langer's birdie putt went less than a foot past the hole, and immediately after making par, he raised both arms in triumph.

Macron explains his tense handshake with Trump
The two newly-minted leaders met in Brussels on Thursday and shook hands in full view of the press. According to the Associated Press , "both men's jaws seemed to clench" during the gesture.

Singh shot 15-under through three rounds.

Langer was at 12-under 132. Singh closed with a 70. He glared into the gallery after making his swing, then chipped onto the green and missed his putt to save par while Langer drained his 10-footer to reclaim a one-stroke margin.

The 33-year-old Kisner won his second PGA Tour title in 148 starts. "When I came out here I wanted to be one of the great players and I think I've accomplished that". That tournament didn't become an official major until 2003, according to Golf Digest and Langer is now recognized as the career majors leader after passing Nicklaus. "He hits the ball very straight", Singh said.

Sri Lanka rescuers find bodies as flood deaths reach 146
Sri Lanka has appealed for outside help as dozens were killed in floods and mudslides and dozens others went mis. Almost 2,000 houses have suffered structural damage or been completely destroyed, according to official figures.

Speaking after his win at Trump National to create history, Langer said: "It's been an awesome ride".

"I missed a lot of putts out there", said Singh. Langer, implacable as ever, birdied the par-5 third and the par-4 fifth to move one shot ahead. His most recent victories on the PGA Tour came in 2008, when he won three times and led in earnings with $6.6 million.

Standing just off the green to greet Langer was his daughter, Christina, who flew to the tournament from Seattle to surprise her father and watch him win his 32nd event on the Champions Tour.

NKorean missile launch may be testing rivals, not technology
North Korea tested a rocket on 14 May that it said could carry a "large-size heavy nuclear warhead" over long distances. North Korea has fired a short-range ballistic missile, the third apparently successful test in as many weeks.
