A mother locked her two young children in the boot of her vehicle while she went shopping, police say.

Police in Riverdale, Utah, in the United States, say witnesses heard the children, aged two and five, making a noise and saw the auto shaking. The older child was able to pull the emergency latch in the trunk and called 911 for help.
