Ian Wright: Why Arsene Wenger deserves credit for 'brave' Arsenal decision

Arsene Wenger's turbulent year ended with a third FA Cup success in four seasons and Antonio Conte's cup curse continued after Arsenal defeated Chelsea 2-1 to deny the English Premier League champions a double yesterday.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was absolutely delighted on Saturday as he hoisted the FA Cup aloft after his side's win over Chelsea.

"I'm especially proud of the way we won this season, in the semi-final we had to play against Man City here and in the final Chelsea here, you can not get tougher and we had two outstanding performances, this cup was won with special spirit and special attitude".

Wenger is yet to confirm whether he will still be manager of Arsenal next season, with his contract set to expire this summer and his future to be determined at a board meeting next week.

Alexis Sanchez gave Arsenal the lead in contentious fashion after only four minutes, when referee Anthony Taylor overruled his assistant after he had flagged for offside against Aaron Ramsey.

But the Gunners caught another break in the 68th minute when Victor Moses was sent off for a second yellow card for a blatant dive in the penalty box.

India has already sent a shipload of goods, while Pakistan said it would also soon dispatch a consignment of relief supplies. Sri Lanka's tri-forces personnel including more than 1,000 Army troops were engaged in the rescue and relief operations.

Chelsea were left feeling blue after a superb performance from Arsenal secured a record 13th FA Cup triumph on Saturday.

"This team has suffered, but it has united and responded".

His previous start had come in an unremarkable 1-0 win over Norwich City in April 2016 and throwing him back into the team for such a high-stake encounter against the Premier League champions seemed fraught with danger.

"They showed strength and unity, " Wenger said, "and we played spectacular football again". "We go home with a bad taste because of what has happened but for sure we would rather win the Premier League than the FA Cup". "But I also know that the coach wants more and he will do everything to win trophies and we hope he will be there next season".

"It will be very important to analyse this season and our squad for this season, and we reached an incredible target with the players that performed 120 per cent every single player".

However, the French International said he would announce his plans only after the FA Cup final which they won earlier today against their London rivals, Chelsea.

Libyan counter terror cops spokesman Ahmed bin Salem confirmed Abedi's mother had been summoned for questioning. Hopkins said the leaks "caused much distress for families that are already suffering terribly with their loss".

"For once I have kept my medal", said the Arsenal manager, who usually gives them away to staff members.

When Costa poached Chelsea's 76th-minute equaliser, it was Mertesacker who nearly got the block in before the ball deflected in off his foot.

"The first goal, the player had his hands attached to the ball with two hands".

"Honestly, I did not see the situation".

"It has been hard for me to do my coaching badges actually as a player - I've been looking to do it for the past year".
