Erdogan Bodyguards Fight Protesters Outside Embassy

The Turkish president was caught on camera observing the violence yesterday.

The clash happened at the Turkish ambassador's residence Tuesday as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived after a White House meeting with President Donald Trump. At least two people were arrested and nine people were injured.

President Erdogan's security staff can be seen kicking and beating Turkish anti-government protesters in Washington.

Washington and Ankara are bitterly at odds over United States support for the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Syria, which Turkey considers a front for banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) separatists. Police said they were checking reports that some of the attackers worked as bodyguards for the Turkish president.
