Ford to invest $350 million in Michigan plant

The investment is part of the company's previously disclosed commitment to invest $9-billion and create or retain 8,500 hourly jobs in its US facilities in the next few years. The company did not say how many additional jobs it will add.

"We remain focused on the three strategic priorities that will create value and drive profitable growth, which include fortifying the profit pillars in our core business, transforming traditionally underperforming areas of our core business and investing aggressively, but prudently, in emerging opportunities", said the company in a statement.

As part of that $4.5 billion strategy, Ford cancelled its plans for a new $1.6 billion factory in Mexico and instead channeled $700 million toward upgrading a factory in MI.

Will you be giving ARMS Global Testpunch a run on May 26? Fans will be able to download the Demos from the Nintendo eShop. Ranked matches will be available as well as an offline Grand Prix that resembles a single player campaign of 10 matches.

Ford's investments are supported by a strong partnership with the UAW, as well as with federal, state, county and local governments.

This transmission will provide customers better-performing, more fuel-efficient vehicles.

"The addition of these 800 jobs will add job security for the plant's hardworking men and women, and support for the surrounding community", Settles said. This transmission will share software, design elements and manufacturing processes with the 10 speed and other future transmissions.

Mariota and his O-line go big at Predators game
But his team continued to press into the third and was rewarded when Forsberg converted the rebound of a shot by Ryan Ellis. The Predators came in waves, shots coming in torrents, though Ducks coach Randy Carlyle was skeptical of the 40-20 count.

The transmission will be finely tuned to blend fun driving and efficiency with Ford engines, including EcoBoost. The company said Friday employment at the Livonia plant has risen from about 1,550 a year ago to 1,800.

The announcement follows Ford's decision earlier this week to trim its salaried workforce globally by 1,400 positions. Ford builds six-speed and 10-speed transmissions used in a number of vehicles including the Mustang, F-150, Transit and Expedition at the plant. Although the company's flagship F-series seems to be selling quite well, Ford also has some significant gaps in its product lineup which have put it at a disadvantage to competitors.
