Mom of boy who killed himself vows he 'will be heard'

The mother of an 8-year-old OH boy who killed himself after she says he was bullied at school pledged to speak out on his behalf. There was no mention of what happened in the bathroom, Branch told CNN. Then he jumps into the face of another student, in what the detectives says is a menacing manner.

Carla Leader, a lawyer for the family, told ABC Cincinnati affiliate WCPO-TV Thursday it was unclear on the video whether Gabriel had hit his head on the wall or the floor. His mother found him in his bedroom.

Later that night, at home, he hanged himself. Gabriel did not go to school January 25 but did January 26. They believe it could have led to the boy's death.

The family chose to release information about the video this week, in the hope that parents and others in the community might come forward with information about what happened. Branch said that a legal team is now working to determine whether to file a lawsuit and who would be named as the defendant in such an event.

On Friday, Joe Deters, Hamilton County's prosecutor, stated that his office was now deciding whether any criminal charges will be filed in connection to Gabriel's suicide.

Save My Care says the campaign will include a mix of TV and digital advertising, costing more than a half million dollars. The House voted 217 to 213 for the repeal legislation, Trump's first major legislative victory of his presidency.

Cincinnati Public Schools released the footage from Carson School on Friday.

School officials have been critical of the detective's description of what happened in the surveillance video recorded January 24. But, they are "concerned about the length of time that [Gabriel] lay motionless and the lack of adult supervision at the scene". The nurse, it says, contacted Gabriel's mother and asked her to pick him up to take him to the hospital.

"She's devastated that her son's second to last day was so painful for him and that she didn't know and that she couldn't protect him", said Branch.

"There's lots of violence going on in that school", she said. Parents it's OK, to tell your children to reach for help when someone is hurting them, whether it's at school, outside, home, or anywhere. "Their investigation has concluded and no charges were filed".

The school has not released the footage to the public. Reynolds picked up Gabriel from school that day after administrators called to say he had fainted but was now alert. After that period of time the school's assistant principal can be seen walking into the bathroom.

The Hamilton County coroner wants a full police investigation into whether an 8-year-old boy's suicide resulted from possible bullying at school and should be ruled a homicide. "Seven county residents 18 and younger have died as suicides this year".

In extremely sad news, an eight-year-old boy has sadly committed suicide after enduring horrendous bullying while at school.

The school district said it released the video reviewed by the detective in "an effort to be completely transparent".

Reportedly, Gabriel had no issues with mental health problems and he was often described as a happy child. Teachers described him as a positive, neat, well-spoken and behaved student. New information from a reopened coroner's investigation could go into that section. The elementary school's website shows that it serves children from prekindergarten through the sixth grade and has 750 students. Branch said Reynolds had been told her son had fainted. "I feel robbed. My only child, my best friend and my first true love isn't here with us physically but I know he's here in spirit", she said.
