Missing Tennessee Teacher Arrested, Teen Found Safe

In the days before he allegedly abducted his 15-year-old student, Tennessee teacher Tad Cummins refilled a prescription for Cialis, took out a loan for quick cash and made hotel reservations in another state, actions investigators believe show he was planning to leave with the girl. A day after they disappeared, Cummins was sacked from his teaching job at Culleoka Unit School, where Elizabeth had been a student in his forensics class.

Thomas and 50-year-old Tad Cummins were found Thursday morning in northern California.

"Our intelligence analysts and agents have worked tirelessly since issuing this AMBER Alert to process more than 1,500 leads from all 50 states", Tennessee Bureau of Investigation director Mark Gwyn said in a statement.

The two were found in Cecilville, a rural town in northern California, after Tennessee Bureau of Investigation received a call to the TBI tip line around 11 p.m. CDT on Wednesday night.

Cummins was reported by another student that saw him kissing Thomas in his classroom, sparking their disappearance a few weeks later on March 13. A student reportedly witnessed him kiss Thomas while at school in late January.

Over 200000 homes in England empty
Kensington and Chelsea has overtaken Lambeth as the London borough with the most empty houses. The total value of Liverpool's long-term empty homes has been estimated at over £750 million.

The TBI says it was a tip from a caller that led them to Elizabeth Thomas and Tad Cummins.

Cummins, whose wife filed for divorce after he disappeared with Elizabeth, has been fired from his teaching job.

He said, "Then we figured it out". "When you do that, something good is going to happen because you can't hide from millions of people".

"It appears that she is healthy and she is not injured and this is incredible", her sister Kat told Burt Scott Staggs in a Facebook live video.

After the capture, Cummins was charged with one federal count of transportations of a minor across state lines for the goal of criminal sexual intercourse, said Jack Smith, acting U.S. attorney for Middle District of Tennessee.

March 17, 2017: Tad Cummins' wife, Jill, speaks for the first time and pleads for her husband to "do the right thing".

"I had a photo of him that was the Amber Alert and I was like, that's definitely the guy, and then we saw the vehicle as well and it matched up".

"This case could have ended very differently, and so I just want you to know the family from the bottom of their heart, from the bottom of our heart as their representatives, recognizes that Elizabeth is safe because of the help and the prayers and the concern of all the persons I've mentioned", he said. Authorities said that surveillance images showed that Cummins' hair appeared to be darker than usual, indicating that he was intentionally altering his image to avoid capture.

Investigators think he manipulated her into leaving with him, but he wasn't authorised to take a minor, and she wasn't old enough to consent. "I think at some point we'll have a good outcome of this case as majority that we do", he said. Lawrence County Attorney General Brent Cooper told the press that Cummins will face charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor.

Court papers filed recently in the girl's disappearance say she was afraid of the teacher and thought she would face repercussions at school if she resisted him. He also left his two children.
