Former Southampton And Portsmouth Manager Harry Redknapp Named As Birmingham Boss

English Championship side Birmingham City have appointed Harry Redknapp as their new manager.

Gianfranco Zola resigned yesterday at the Championship club after overseeing a bad run of form that yielded only two wins in 22 games since taking over four months ago.

They're just three points above the relegation places with as many games of the season to go so Harry has his work cut out!.

"I got a call at 7 p.m. asking if I could come and having a meeting in London".

Government must be enabler, not regulator: PM Modi
The Prime Minister pointed out that earlier people depended on government for nearly everything as there was no competition. Prime Minister said, e-governance, m-governance, social media are good means to reach out to the people for their benefits.

He also guided Portsmouth to promotion from the Championship during his long career.

The club confirms the appointment of Redknapp who is the oldest manager in the EFL at the age of 70.

Redknapp's brief does not now extend beyond securing Birmingham's second-tier survival but if he can achieve that aim, he could be convinced to remain in charge for a crack at promotion to the Premier League.

They then host fourth-placed Huddersfield Town before travelling to fellow strugglers Bristol City on the final day of the season on May 7.

Reus rues sloppy start in Dortmund's Champions League exit
The Dortmund travelling fans situated in a corner of the stadium responded with chants of "Monaco!". The match was hurriedly rescheduled for the next day and Monaco won 3-2.

The crowd at St Andrews chanted angrily for Zola's dismissal during Monday's defeat and Zola said he did not blame them.

"I made a decision to do this".

"I've gone in there and said, "listen, I don't want nothing, I will come and do it". If they don't stay up I won't stay", added Redknapp.

"Unfortunately the results have not been good and I take full responsibility". So, why stay? If I can not help the team, it is better I leave and let someone else do that.

Predators hope for second win against Blackhawks
The Nashville Predators made quite a statement in the first two games of their first-round series against the Chicago Blackhawks. But it was more of the same for the Blackhawks, who once again looked out of sync against the Predators' active defense.

Redknapp has been involved in football since 1958, and has managed Bournemouth, West Ham, Southampton, Tottenham, QPR and Jordan, and has also taken in two stints at Portsmouth, where he won the FA Cup. We worked with a lot of meaning, but unfortunately it didn't produce the results.
