Passenger forcibly dragged off overbooked United Airline flight

As the flight waited to depart from Chicago's O'Hare Airport, officers could be seen grabbing the screaming man in his window seat, pulling him across the armrest and dragging him down the aisle by his arms.

Norton released her statement after a video surfaced across the internet showing a United Airlines passenger being dragged out by security when he refused to give up his seat on an overbooked flight.

The passenger was being removed because United overbooked the flight and no one would volunteer to get off to make room for employees who needed a ride.

Fellow passengers on the flight posted jarring videos late Sunday night of uniformed men dragging the man off of the flight after what United called an "overbook situation". Four crew members needed to get on the flight in order to work another one in Louisville or else that flight would be canceled, airline spokeswoman Maddie King said.

Oscar Munoz, CEO of United Airlines' parent company, described the event as "upsetting" and apologised for "having to re-accommodate these customers".

Other social media users questioned whether the man would have been removed as forcefully had he not been Asian.

The group also includes an on-board air group, and three guided missile launchers, two destroyers and a cruiser. Previously, ships that crossed into the Western Pacific came under the Japan-based 7th Fleet's command.

The United CEO added that the passenger at the center of the video, who said he was a doctor and had patients to see the following morning, was "disruptive and belligerent".

United Airlines overbooked a flight headed from Chicago to Louisville. Following the incident, United's mentions on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter mushroomed from a daily average of 2,000 to 174,000.

Time to boycott United Airlines!

United asked passengers to give up their seats voluntarily for compensation. "Oh my God!" a female passenger is heard saying on the video.

The play-by-play he then provided included saying that the staff repeatedly asked him to leave the seat after he was selected randomly by a computer, and became "more and more disruptive and belligerent".

As video of the incident spread, United came under intense criticism for its handling of the situation, with people pledging to boycott the airline.

Having tamed Augusta, Garcia is rewarded with a purse of $1,98 million - a cool R27,5 million at the time of writing. Rose was two shots up on Garcia with five holes to play, and the latter had looked lost for the previous four holes.

He did not mention the passenger who was forcibly removed appeared to suffer a bloodied nose and required medical attention. We have a number of customers on board that aircraft, and they want to get to their destination on time and safely, and we want to work to get them there. In short, "forcibly remove" passengers if they don't leave on their own.

The CEO of United Airlines has apologised and a U.S. police officer has been suspended after footage of officers dragging a 69-year-old Chinese passenger from an overbooked United flight sparked global outrage.

The initial outrage over the altercation was sparked by a tweet from a different passenger named Tyler Bridges who was on board and recorded the incident on his phone.

A United spokesperson confirmed in a statement that a passenger had been taken off the flight.

According to reports, the Chicago to Louisville flight was oversold and several passengers were chosen at random to be bumped from the flight, including the man and his wife.

Late previous year, in the wake of news that the airline would soon be limiting economy passengers to one piece of carry-on luggage, we wondered when United's quest to be "less awful" would actually begin.
