Maxine Waters Calls Out Fox News As A 'Sexual Harassment Enterprise'

In the wake of a New York Times report revealing $13 million in settlements for sexual harassment cases against Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly and President Donald Trump's vocal defense of the pundit, Rep. Maxine Waters, D- Calif., called for both men's imprisonment Wednesday night.

"I think that if the public and if advertisers continue to push on their beliefs and move away from O'Reilly, then Fox News may also follow suit", said Mimi Chakravorti, the executive director of a brand consulting firm, in an interview with TVNewser.

Angie's List is the latest advertiser to pull ads from Fox News' "The O'Reilly Factor" after sexual harassment claims against host Bill O'Reilly resurfaced last week. "I think she either advised him wrong or she's absent, and she's not in it".

Walsh's lawyer said she was inspired to speak out after a Times reporter told her other women had been silenced by gag orders related in settlements. "Mr. O'Reilly is fully committed to supporting our efforts to improve the environment for all our employees at Fox News", the statement continued.

North Korea blasts USA strikes on Syria, says justify nukes: State media
A leading expert on the short, chubby Kim would not be surprised if he is hiding following the US missile strike against Syria. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson have reaffirmed that they will work together to stop the spread of chemical weapons.

That makes this an even tougher test for corporate parent 21st Century Fox, and leaders James and Lachlan Murdoch.

Maxine Waters has words for the "sexual harassment enterprise" at Fox News, and on Thursday, she shared them with MSNBC's Chris Hayes on All In.

O'Reilly ultimately agreed to pay Mackris $9 million, and the two parties issued a joint statement claiming "no wrongdoing whatsoever" had occurred.

One sign in O'Reilly's favour: The Wall Street Journal reported that Fox renewed his contract, which was due to expire at the end of the year, while fully aware of the accusations, which stretch back more than a decade.

Haley: Attack on Syria 'one of the president's finest hours'
In Florida with the president, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said additional economic sanctions on Syria were being prepared. Tillerson would "deliver that clear and coordinated message to the Russians", he said.

Lisa Bloom, an attorney for one of the women who accused O'Reilly of sexual harassment, is calling for an independent investigation into the network.

"We buy our media quarterly", explained company spokeswoman Katie Henkes, "and are constantly monitoring to make sure our buy aligns with our advertising strategy and our target customers".

Bill O'Reilly is in trouble.

Bill O'Reilly has spent his 21 years as the centerpiece of Fox News' prime time lineup making a steady stream of sexist, racist, ignorant comments, but he rarely suffered any serious setbacks. On the west coast, Fox Broadcasting and 20th Century Fox TV have thrived by offering some of the most programming out there, pushing boundaries with series like "Modern Family", "The Simpsons", and "Glee".

United Kingdom police to honor officer slain in Parliament attack
Chief Constable Sara Thornton, head of the National Police Chiefs' Council, said the scale of the funeral was unprecedented. Two police helicopters conducted a fly-past of the cortege before performing a "missing man formation", an aerial salute.

The robust viewership shows the tough road Fox News is walking along these days.
