Ryan: More help for older people needed in GOP health bill

Ryan and Trump can only afford to lose 21 GOP votes in the House.

In the Senate, where Republicans hold a narrow 52-48 majority, prospects for the GOP bill also were uncertain as both moderates and conservatives criticized it.

Ryan said the more generous tax credits will be among the changes the House Rules committee will take up this week in advance of a final House floor vote - planned for Thursday. "The president is bringing people to his table, and I'm very impressed with how the president is helping us close this bill, and making the improvements that we've been making, getting the votes".

"We think we should be offering even more assistance than the bill now does" for lower-income people age 50 to 64, Ryan, the top Republican in Congress, said of the tax credits for health insurance that are proposed in the legislation.

Kim Jong-Un declares 'new birth' in North Korea's rocket programme
US President Donald Trump has criticised North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying he was "acting very, very badly". The reported test came one day after U.S.

However, the orientation of his health care proposal is a far cry from Jesus, who proclaimed, "Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me" (Matt. 25.40).

"It's a fine needle that needs to be threaded, no doubt about it", said Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price, speaking about the negotiations Sunday on ABC's "This Week". Addressing all the concerns is "what tough legislation looks like".

Under his proposed replacement bill, the the sick and the elderly, those with the most limited resources, are left at the highest risk, despite having health insurance. It would shrink the tax credits they use to help buy insurance and it would increase their premiums because the bill allows insurers to charge more as people age and become more susceptible to health problems.

Wallace noted a CBO estimate which said that a 64 year old making less than $27,000 a year will pay $14,600 a year for health insurance instead of the $1,700 they pay now under President Barack Obama's law. "He's the one who has helped to negotiate changes to this bill with members from all over our caucus". He also blasted ObamaCare, noting the legislation won't last.

Manchester United defeat Middlesbrough, climb to 5th spot in EPL
Owen Hargreaves believes that Manchester United have now found a way to win under manager Jose Mourinho. For example, I played Valencia in that [higher position] to protect him.

But Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who has worked closely with the hard-right bloc in the House, said on "This Week" that the bill was still short of a majority.

The GOP bill as now written offers a fixed tax credit for low- and middle-income Americans that rises by age.

"I would say, this is the very, very beginning of the budget process", he said.
